Eligibility & Referrals

Eligibility Criteria

In order to be referred to the Communication Devices Program you must meet the following criteria:

• Resident of Manitoba (includes persons living in First Nations Communities)
• 18 years of age or older
• Severe communication disorder (speech alone does not meet your daily communication needs)
• Potential for using equipment (can be determined during assessment/ consultation)
• Client or support team is capable of caring for equipment.

Referrals

We prefer that potential clients are referred to the CDP by their Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). If potential clients do not have access to an SLP they may be referred by their Occupational Therapist or other healthcare provider.
