Short Stays at DLC
The inpatient geriatric programs at Deer Lodge Health Centre support older adults recovering from illness, injury, or a loss of independence. These programs offer specialized assessment, rehabilitation, and transitional care to help patients safely return to the community. Each patient receives a personalized care plan created by a team of healthcare professionals.
Through assessment and therapy, patients work to improve their strength, mobility, and ability to manage daily activities. For those who need more time before going home, transitional care provides extra support and help planning for discharge. This includes arranging services, housing, equipment, and community supports.
From the day of admission, patients and families are involved in care decisions. The team works closely with them to set goals, track progress, and plan for a safe return home—helping each person feel prepared and supported as they move back to living in the community.
