Occupational Therapy (OT) at the Communication Devices Program (CDP)

The Occupational Therapist is responsible for providing clinical assessment and/ or consultation as it relates to the use of a Communication System. Specifically, OT works with individuals who may require mounting and/ or alternate access. They also provide education, prescribe and assess new equipment, participate in research and maintain their skills by completing ongoing education.

Amy McDougall, OT

After working in Deer Lodge Health Centre’s main Occupational Therapy (OT) department for 6+ years, Amy joined the Communication Devices Program (CDP) team in June of 2015. She is enthusiastic and compassionate when working with clients and peers.

Amy works full time, Monday to Friday 8 am until 4 pm.

Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) at the Communication Devices Program (CDP)

The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for providing clinical assessment and/ or consultation as it relates to the use of a Communication System. Specifically, SLP works with individuals to determine the most appropriate language system (i.e. text to speech, symbol or visual supports, etc). They also provide education, prescribe and assess new equipment, participate in research and maintain their skills by completing ongoing education.

Aynsley Allen, SLP

Aynsley has been working as an SLP since 2010. She has been a dedicated and efficient member of the CDP team since 2016. She really makes the team sparkle!

Aynsley works full time, Monday to Friday 7:15 am until 3:15 pm.

Electronics Technologist (ET) at the Communication Devices Program (CDP)

The Electronics Technologist (ET) is responsible for managing our databse/ inventory of equipment and all of the onsite equipment assessments and repairs. They also provide education, troubleshooting, assess new equipment options, participate in research and maintain their skills by completing ongoing education.

Dimitri Tsaiger, ET

Dimitri joined our dynamic team in early 2012. Clients, staff and peers alike appreciate his attention to detail and ability to get the job done in a timely manner.

Dimitri works full time, Monday to Friday 8 am until 4 pm.

Administrative Assistant (Admin) at the Communication Devices Program (CDP)

The Administrative Assistant (Admin) is responsible for general administrative duties such as greeting clients, answering phones, creating and maintaining files, etc. The admin also assists with task such as processing equipment (either returns or shipping out), maintaining inventory and submitting orders. As appropriate the admin may also participate in ongoing education to update and maintain their skills.

Jason Vea, Admin

Jason is the newest member of the CDP team. He joined our program in late 2022. Jason is the friendly face that greets our clients for their appointments and is the cheerful voice they hear when booking appointments. .

Jason works full time, Monday to Friday 8 am until 4 pm.

Rehabilitation Assistant (RA) at the Communication Devices Program (CDP)

The Rehabilitation Assistant (RA) is responsible for assisting to managing the inventory of equipment, process returned equipment as well as customize devices by programming the software to meet the client’s needs. They also provide education, assess new equipment options, participates in research and maintain their skills by maintaining his ongoing education.

Mark Smolinski, RA

Mark joined our team in 2010. Since that time Mark has been dedicated to providing support to the clients and clinicians of the CDP.

Mark works full time, Monday to Friday 8 am until 4 pm.

Program Coordinator at the Communication Devices Program (CDP)

The Program Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the day-to-day operations of the Program run smoothly. These tasks include screening referrals, coordinating projects, assessing and prioritizing orders as well as providing customer service. The coordinator also assists with assessment of new equipment, research and maintains their skills by participating in ongoing education.

Stacey McRuer, Program Coordinator

Stacey started in the Commnication Devices Program as the Occupational Therapist (OT) in 2009. She accepted the position as Program Coordinator in the fall of 2014. Since then, Stacey has enjoyed the successes and challenges that come with being the coordinator.

Stacey works full time, Monday to Friday 8 am until 4 pm.
