Movement Disorder Clinic
The Movement Disorder Clinic (MDC) is an interdisciplinary clinic providing specialized services for clients with movement disorders. To be seen at the Movement Disorder Clinic patients need to be referred to one of the MDC Neurologists. The spectrum of movement disorders treated at the clinic includes Parkinson’s Disease, Parkinsonism, Tremor, Dystonia, Chorea, Myoclonus, Huntington’s Disease, Tourette’s Syndrome, Restless Leg Syndrome, and Drug-Induced Movement Disorders.

Clinic Services
Movement Disorder Neurology
Patients can be referred by their provider to see a neurologist at the MDC for assessment or treatment related to the movement disorders listed above.
Consultation with an MDC neurologist is available to assist community providers in managing and diagnosing movement disorders.
General Neurology Referrals
The Movement Disorder Clinic is a specialized clinic, as such we recommend referring physicians send non-movement disorder cases to a general neurologist in the community; if there is a reason the patient should be seen at this clinic please indicate why on the “Request for Services” form.
Botulinum Injections
Patients seen by an MDC neurologist can receive Botulinum injections at the clinic if warranted for their movement disorder. For more information about botulinum medications see the “Botulinum Injections” section of our “Patient Resources” page.
Clinic Resource Nurse
Patients seen by an MDC Neurologist can access the clinic’s resource nurse. The resource nurse can provide direct patient care and education for patients. To learn more about this service see our “Team Members” page.
Allied Health Services
Patients seen by an MDC Neurologist can access Allied Health Services at the clinic. The services available are Physiotherapy, Speech and Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Dietitian, and Social Work services. To learn more about these services see our “Team Members” page.
Device-Aided Therapies
Patients seen by an MDC neurologist can be referred for device-aided therapies if warranted for their movement disorder. These include treatments such as Deep Brain Stimulation, Duodopa and Vyalev. To learn more about see our “Device-Aided Therapies” page.
Affiliated Services
Huntington’s Social Work Services
The clinic houses a specialized Social Worker for patients with Huntington’s Disease. This service is provided by the Huntington’s Society of Canada. The Huntington’s Society Social Worker services can be accessed for patients NOT seen at the Movement Disorder Clinic. Neurologists in the community can refer patients by faxing a completed “Request for Services” form to 204-940-8414 or calling 204-772-4617.
Clinical Research Trials
