Complex Continuing Care (formerly Chronic Care)

The Complex Continuing Care program supports residents with medical needs that are more complex than what can be provided in Personal Care units. These residents require ongoing medical support and care from a multidisciplinary team.

Many residents in this program live with long-term or progressive health conditions along with additional needs such as tracheostomy care, ostomy care, specialized nutrition support, complex wound care, blood transfusions, and intravenous therapies.

The Complex Continuing Care program focuses on comfort, dignity, and quality of life while providing long-term, specialized medical support. We care for residents with complex health concerns, including degenerative conditions, bariatric care needs, and recovery from significant injuries.

Please note that this program does not support residents who require ventilator care.

Living Spaces

Most residents reside in shared rooms, accommodating 2-3 residents. Privacy curtains separate shared spaces.
Private rooms are limited in availability and access is determined by medical necessity.
Each room includes a shared bathroom with two communal tub bathing rooms per unit.
One of our Complex Continuing Care units features a state-of-the-art bariatric bathing suite, accommodating residents up to 770 lbs.

Rehabilitation & Support

Physiotherapy gyms are equipped for rehabilitation. Each unit has access to a physiotherapy gym staffed by trained physiotherapists and assistants.
Kitchenette areas allow residents and families to prepare snacks and staff are available to assist.
